Volunteer
on  Juneteenth
March  with  US

All Are Welcome. This is America's Holiday!

Volunteer

Juneteenth March could not be a success without the help of our wonderful volunteers. We are looking for hundreds of volunteers to ensure a safe and fun day for everyone as we return to Central Park on Monday, June 19th!

We offer volunteer opportunities for all ages and groups:

SIGN IN: Be the first smiling face participants see the morning of the Event! Sign-In Volunteers check in marchers and collect the funds they have raised. You must be detail-oriented and have a valid photo ID. Sign-In Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

MARSHALS/CROWD CONTROL: Get a front-row view along the route and cheer on marchers as they pass by! This important group of volunteers directs the flow of participant traffic and helps keep marchers safe at key intersections along the march route. Outgoing, energetic folks with great communication skills are encouraged to take on this role! Crowd Control volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

CHECKPOINTS: Checkpoint Volunteers are the friendly people that greet marchers and hand out delicious snacks and beverages at one of three checkpoints along the route. You will help run one of these refreshment stations, direct marchers to services such as restrooms and first aid, and make sure they are having a wonderful time. This volunteer position is great for groups.

ROUTE DELINEATORS: This crew works as a team that assembles and "delineates" the Juneteenth March route with cones and caution tape before the march starts, and breaks it down once the route has closed. This is a great role for those who enjoy being active. Be prepared to get your hands a little dirty and possibly do some lifting!

TEAMS VOLUNTEERS: This select group of volunteers will assist in setting up our Teams Meeting Area! You’ll help us welcome some of our most dedicated fundraisers as they join us in Central Park, and help team marchers find their Team Meeting Stations as well as other Juneteenth March areas on the venue. Teams Volunteers will need to quickly learn the venue layout, and must be comfortable with physical activity and lifting. Must be 18 or older.

STRIKE/CLEAN UP: Help us leave Central Park pristine and beautiful after you cross the Finish Line. We need all hands on deck to break down and clean up, and people of all ages are welcome. Groups are a perfect fit for this position, and it’s a great role for those who wish to march, or simply come later in the day!

SATURDAY SET-UP: Help make the event come alive by joining us on Saturday, May 14 as we prepare Central Park for Juneteenth March. Play an important role in creating the look and feel of this year's march by helping us make sure every table, chair, and sign is in place, ensuring a smooth and successful march on Sunday. This position is great for groups and those who would like to march on the day of the event!

DAY OF EVENT SET-UP: Help us at the crack of dawn to put the finishing touches on the venue, and then march with all your fellow participants.

SECURITY: This friendly but firm group helps keep people safe – and away from protected areas – during the Juneteenth March New York Opening and Post-march Ceremonies. Security Volunteers must possess excellent leadership and communication skills. Must be 18 or older.

FINISH LINE/HOOPLA: Be the first to welcome back marchers at the finish line! Pom-poms and bells are provided – just bring your biggest smile and your loudest cheering voice. Then stick around to help us make sure the venue is spotless and beautiful.
